Last Week Recap
The past week was full of ups and downs but we still managed
to have a great time out there racing and locking in some excellent podium
finishes and here is our quick recap.
Starting with our Stradalli Pro road Team Riders racing at
the Tour of Southern Highlands out of our 6 man team we had one sick rider
leaving us with 5 who were ready to work for our “GC” Florence. We were off to
a great start which was short lived during the Friday night critirium as one of
our riders clipped a protruding barricade with his shoulder causing an early
end to our chances of victory. Gladly no serious injuries as our team physician
managed to get him checked out, and bandaged up ready for the Time Trial. No
podium but our team learned a lot about teamwork and perseverance and pushed to
the finish with three of our riders finishing in the top 20.
Sad news from one of our riders in the Dominican Republic who crashed at the Vuelta Dominica ending his chances of a podium finish but gladly suffered no major injuries.

collegiate race this weekend.

Congratulations everybody for their hard work and dedication we have another week of racing ahead and.

2016 Florida State Championship Series
The weather still feels like summer although it is officially fall but at least it felt like a "good" summer day with the humidity a little down and the sun shinning on the FSC racers. The 6.7 mile challenging race course was in great shape thanks to the Swamp Club volunteers and a timely rain on Saturday evening that really tightened up the course. There was a new section added this year called "spitfire" and it seemed to be a hit with the racers and had the feel of a amusement park ride as it dipped and rolled through the woods surrounding "North Creek".
On race day the Shimano youth racers took to the trails first with some exciting race action and then at 9:30 the yellow wave hit the first turn and the Protano Law $50 holeshot went to Shawn Smith this week as the riders quickly filed into a fast pace line for the rest of the four lap race. It was one year ago that Bob McCarty – Team Stradalli - Safetti was suffered a hard fall on this trail and was hospitalized for multiple injuries while racing for the lead and on this day Bob returned with true determination and won a hard fought battle with his competitors and the course to take the Elite class win on his full suspension Stradalli carbon 29er

Angel
David Rodriguez is a 10 year old cyclist who competes in MTB, BMX and Road Racing.
He started in motorcross at the age of 2 ½ and was diagnosed with autism at the
age of 3 ½ so his father switched him to cycling. He immediately took an
interest in mountain biking and has been training with Stradalli Cycle mountain
biker Bob McCarty.
His
parents believe that cycling has helped tremendously with his autism and Angel
competes in races throughout the year. Some of his more impressive
accomplishments include:
Winning
the State Time Trial Championship the first time he raced a road bike
Cross
Country Champ Ages 9-11
Greater
than all these accomplishments is the positive attitude Angel has towards life
and others with disabilities.
“Angels
Racing Together” is a program his parents created where children who are in
therapy with Angel are brought to some of his races to cheer him on. Before the
race Angel puts the names of each child who is there on the back of his jersey
and gives them any medals or trophies he wins on that day. He does this because
he wants them to experience some of the joy cycling has brought him.

Stradalli Cycle Ready To Test And Review Mountain Bikes At Trans-Sylvania Epic
The only way you become the best is by constantly pushing
and testing yourself. Stradalli Cycle believes in that which is why they are
entering the Trans-Sylvania Epic this summer in Pennsylvania. It’s not only a
great event to take part in but it is also a great opportunity to see how the Stradalli
Cycle mountain bikes hold up against some of the other top brands.
The Trans-Sylvania Epic is an annual mountain biking event
held every summer in central Pennsylvania and welcomes over 200 MTB riders from
all around the world. It has quickly become the biggest mountain biking stage
race on the east coast and every year seems to get bigger and bigger. Stradalli
Cycle CEO Tom Steinbacher has heard a lot of big things about the Epic and
decided this was the year to test his brand and racers against some of the best
in the world.
“I know Bob McCarty and Cesar Grajales are great mountain
bikers but stage races are different. Bob has been riding for over 20 years and
he has never been in a stage race. If we want to say we are the best we have to
prove it. The Stradalli – Bike Aid Continental Team is grabbing wins all over
Europe and Africa which is great but we are more than just a full carbon road
bike manufacturer. We have elite level full carbon mountain bikes as well and
that is what Bob, Cesar and I plan on proving this summer at the Epic.” Tom
Steinbacher
Whether it’s outstanding reviews or the large amount of wins
Stradalli seems to grab every year, the company has been entering bigger races
each year in a massive effort to not only build their brand but to also prove
their bikes can go up against any other manufacturer, not just with road
bicycles but MTB as well.

Stradalli Cycle Mountain Bike Team will be taking on the Trans – Epic stage race this coming July in preparation for World Cup events.
The Trans – Epic stage race takes place over 7 days in the mountain bike capital of Pennsylvania on trails that are commonly reviewed as some of the best the East Coast has to offer. The races feature everything from flowing singletrack days to days with which focus specifically on enduro skills.
The race truly provides a battleground for mountain bikers of all skill sets to come and test their abilities. The racers cover 225 miles and over 28,000 feet of climbing in around 20 hours of racing.
Stradalli Cycle will be in attendance with owner Tom Stradalli and several professionals riding the Stradalli 650b full suspension mountain bike. Cesar Grajales, former downhill mountain bike champion of Colombia, will be riding all stages of the week long race. Grajales is famous for winning the mountainous of the Tour of Georgia ahead of a group containing Lance Armstrong and Chris Horner and several other top riders in the world at the time.
Bob McCarty, World Cup Mountain Biker Racer and former United States National Champion, will also be in attendance to compete for the overall at Trans – Epic Mountain Bike Stage Race. McCarty said the Trans – Epic will be a new experience and is looking forward to the challenges ahead.
“This will be the first time in my career where I will compete for the overall title in a 5 day stage race,” McCarty said. “I have been slowly, but surely making my way back from my injury which had me hospitalized a few months ago and now it is time to really test myself. I am not back to 100 percent, but I am confident I can do something great at the Trans – Epic.”
The Trans – Epic Single Track Summer Camp begins May 29th, 2016.

The Markham 100 finished this weekend with Bob McCarty of Stradalli Cycles taking the top step of the podium.
The Markham 100, which took place at Markham Park in South Florida, featured some of the most technical trails ever featured in a mountain bike race in Florida. The race saw over 250 starters for the 100 kilometer race making it one of the biggest mountain bike events in the history of South Florida.
Markham Park is known for very technical trails and the Markham 100 included many of these. The event even went so far to run one of the trails backwards, which threw even local riders into a difficult situation. The course included everything from very steep, rooted uphills to winding, tight single track.
All individuals from all categories would start the race at the same time, meaning it was a mad dash to enter the trails first.
McCarty, riding the Stradalli 650b full suspension, was at the front of the race with 1 other rider for the entirety of the race. However, McCarty's race was not as easy as he made it look. A fork malfunction on lap 4 meant McCarty rode the entirety of the race with a nearly rigid fork.
This created many difficulties in tight corners and fast downhill sections, but McCarty and the Stradalli 650b performed flawlessly throughout the race.
McCarty's experience would see him not only lead the entire race, but also post a blistering lap time of 20:24 on his 12th lap to cement his 1st place finish at the Markham 100.

Stradalli Cycle Mountain Biker Bob McCarty Missed While Testing Inverted Front Suspension
Stradalli Cycle's Bob McCarty is recovering well from his crash earlier this month and should be able to return to active racing in 2016.
McCarty was not able to attend testing out the new inverted all black mtb forks on the Stradalli bikes.
"We wish Bob the best and he is going to be back quicker than we realize because he is so competitive. But everyone at Markham park was asking about him because he's that great a guy and everyone misses him and wishes him the best." Stradalli Cycle MTB racer Doug DeWeese
Also testing the inverted front suspension was Stradalli Cycle CEO Tom Steinbacher.
"We miss Bob but we couldn't help but laugh a little. All he has been wanting to do is test out the new inverted front suspension on the bikes and we get to do it. It was nice doing Bob's job for a day but we do want him back ASAP."
You can read more about Bob McCarty, Doug DeWeese and the Stradalli Cycle Mountain Bikes at the company blog
