The Stradalli – Safetti
Cycling Team has been training and working hard to get ready for the USA Criterium Series
which officially begins in Tampa, Florida on March 18th. There are plenty of new faces with several familiar ones returning to the team which began training early in the year.
The team has experienced early success this cycling season as they have come away with a top 10 finish in every race while helping the young riders on the team get acclimated and develop. The goal this year is to continue upon the progress and development of young racers who helped make the team a success last season and prepare them for the Miami Pro Cycling Criterium.
The focus early on this season has been about practicing teamwork and finding chemistry and success using the experience riders to give younger riders opportunity to
win. After a short break the team is ready to get back to action.
Akil
Campbell, the Stradalli-Safetti ambitious young racer from Trinidad and Tobago brought a top 10 placing in what will
likely be the hardest road race of the season in in his first race with the team.
Grant
Potter, team captain is currently training in his home country Scotland after overcoming a life
threatening surgery that cut his season short last year but thankfully did not end his career. He has since found his way back to racing at the top level but it is more than his racing ability that is needed as he also brings a wealth of experience to a young team.
The
Vuelta Independencia Nacional Republica Dominicana UCI 2.2 race begins tomorrow
with pro racer Jose Frank Rodriguez representing his
country for the 8 stages.
The
rest of the team is training in South Florida in preparation of their next race. The Stradalli – Safetti team will continue
their 2016 racing schedule in March starting with the Chain of Lakes races
which are a part of the Bill Bone Pro Am Florida Series.
