Ruben Companioni Leaving Stradalli-Safetti For 2016 Season

Stradalli-Safetti, US based pro men’s criterium team, has granted Ruben Companioni a release from his contract to join Jamis Professional Cycling Team for the 2016 season.

Companioni was under contract for 2016 but Stradalli-Safetti decided for Companioni’s career, the best thing would be a change of focus. There was interest in Companioni joining the newly formed Stradalli-Bike Aid Germany Continental cycling team but the level of racing in Europe is a huge step up, not necessarily the step up Companioni is looking for at this time.

Stradalli Cycle CEO Tom Steinbacher said Companioni is still and always will be a part of the Stradalli family, but Jamis was the better fit for him for 2016 and wanted him to race road not just
criteriums. “Ruben is a great criterium racer, but he is an even better road racer. He has been great for our team, but I want him to be in the best possible situation for next year.

Stradalli Cycle currently sponsors several teams around the world including a European Continental Team, a United States Professional Criterium Team, a Women’s Domestic Elite Team (with Papa John’s), and a junior development team(Wizard Racing Development Team). Stradalli Cycle uses all its avenues to develop riders and bring them to the next level which is what attracted them to Bike Aid in the first place.

Bike Aid most recently brought African rider Mekseb Debesay into the international scene and helped him to elevate his career. It was recently announced that Debesay will move on to Team Dimension Data to ride along side Mark Cavendish in the UCI World Tour. Stradalli-Bike Aid has two U23 stagiaire roles left to fill for 2016.

Stradalli-Safetti will continue its focus on United States criterium racing in 2016 while Stradalli-Bike Aid will compete at the top level road races in Europe. For Companioni, a United States based road racing team will allow him to continue his progress and will allow him to stay close to family as well.

“Stradalli is my family and without them I wouldn’t have all these wonderful kinds of opportunities. I also have my family here in Miami to care for first and foremost. With Jamis I can travel to the biggest races and have the best opportunities, but still be close to home and my friends.” Companioni said.

“Stradalli-Safetti is all about opportunity and giving young racers the chance to reach their dreams. We keep a tight family here because that is the best environment for racers to develop. Ruben had great success with us and he will have great success with Jamis. Now another up and coming racer will have the opportunity to race for Stradalli-Safetti. In a year or so, if Ruben keeps developing the way he has, then maybe we will talk about bringing him to our European team. For now, we wish him the best of luck in 2016 and always will stay in close contact.” Steinbacher said.

Stradalli Cycle - Bike Aid Will Continue Inspiring Charity Work In Africa

You may not know the difference between a Wal-Mart bicycle and a full carbon road bike but you do know about the devastation and poverty that is day to day life in many countries of Africa. There are hundreds of charitable organizations trying to help and a great example is Bike Aid, a German cycling club with over 600 members who help to bring aspiring cyclists to Europe.

The Conti Team has races all over the globe in hopes to raise awareness of their cause and in only two years they have real success stories they can be proud of. Mekseb Debesay, one of the young cyclists from Africa who was given an opportunity to race in Europe because of Bike Aid has signed on to be a teammate of Mark Cavendish for team Dimension Data in the World Tour.

“The story of Debesay is a great success for him as well as for our cause. It is always a challenge to try and educate people on what you are doing and why they should support you but when you have true success stories you can start showing them results for their efforts. With the success of the program we are getting more attention and help than we ever thought possible in such a short period of time and we are excited that 2016 is expected to be our biggest season yet with more African cyclist on the team than before and we will also have the help of our new title and bike sponsor Stradalli Cycle from America.” Bike Aid Racer Spokesman Matthias Schnapka

The full carbon bike manufacturer from Florida has been looking to sponsor a Conti Team for a while but took a special interest in Bike Aid because of what they represent.

You can read more about the Stradalli Cycle - Bike Aid Conti Team as well as their cause and updates during the 2016 racing season.

Bike Aid Concept Showing Results In Their Second Year

Mekseb Debesay is officially a teammate of Mark Cavendish in the World Tour.

After 2 years of hard work, the most successful rider of the Conti team will now be riding side by side with Mark Cavendish in team Dimension Data, formerly known as MTN-Qhubeka, for the 2016 racing season.

Eric Haus, President of Bike Aid, said that this proves the teams goals are being accomplished exactly as they hoped for.

“This is truly a success story that has turned out just as we have hoped it would. Mekseb is well respected and one of the most popular cyclists on the African continent. He has won many victories for our team. We used our media work and our racing calendar as a platform for our successes. The leap from our team to the highest class of cycling is exactly what we want to achieve in our project for African riders,” Haus said.

Bike Aid has has had similar success last year with Dan Craven, who successfully completed the Vuelta a Espana in 2014 with Team Europcar.

Timo Schafer, Team Coordinator for Bike Aid, is looking forward to working with the new riders for 2016.

“Mekseb leaving does create a big gap for the team, but this also creates an oppurtunity for the young racers looking to have a shot next year. We have a number of new African talents for 2016 and we are excited to see how it will evolve in the team, and hopefully we will see more success stories.” Shafer said.

The Stradalli-Bike Aid Continental Cycling Team is the first professional cycling team in Saarland, Germany. Stradalli Bike-Aid promotes and stands for fresh, honest cycling with a socially sustainable background. The team competes annually in more than 100 races on all continents and has already achieved considerable international success with multiple podium appearances.

The Stradalli-Bike Aid Continental Team promotes talented athletes from Africa by helping them to fulfill their lifelong dreams of racing in Europe. They assist with sports training, education and internship offers as a cultural exchange program. Stradalli-Bike Aid plans to make cycling a fascinating experience for as many individuals as possible, regardless of their social and cultural backgrounds.

2015 A Year In Review For Stradalli Cycle

As we look back and review 2015 for Stradalli Cycle this was certainly the year where the company made their presence felt around the entire world. Whether it was our full carbon road bikes being used in the UCI Road World Championships at Richmond 2015 or our full carbon Mountain Bikes racing in Andorra, Stradalli established themselves as a global brand and we are just getting started.
USA Crits: Racing all over North America the team bonded early on with a great combination of seasoned vets and young talent. The team led the overall points standings for the majority of the season and had more pro racers finish in the top 10 of the standings than any other team including a 2nd place overall finish.

Local Domination: While we compete all over the world our home is South Florida and we wouldn’t be able to move forward unless we had a strong foothold in our own backyard. Our pro racers compete in local events throughout the year and this season saw more Florida racing victories than any other.

Mountain Biking: Whether it was Doug DeWeese dominating the FSC Championship on his full carbon 29er full suspension or Bob McCarty winning big races all over North America there is no doubt that we have some elite MTB riders who spent the year stuffing the company trophy case.
Sponsors Commit Early: With the success that 2015 brought and new teams forming in 2016 the sponsors were lining up early. We welcome new sponsors Papa John’s Sea Sucker, Catlike Bicycle Helmet among others and want to say thanks to past sponsors who committed to coming back early on including Safetti, Demon’s Cycle, Jaco Clothing, Diadora, FSA, Met-Rx, Bill Bone Bike Law and others.

Richmond 2015 UCI Road World Championships: Despite great customer reviews on all our full carbon bikes Stradalli is not interested in just bragging, we put our money where our mouth is and that’s why we became the official sponsor of the Colombian National Team. Our full carbon road bikes were used in the races at Richmond 2015 and held their own against the top brands in the world. They were also featured and used during coverage of the races by ESPN Deportes, Universal Sports and others.

New Teams: Flamingo Racing LLC announced the formation of the new Florida based cycling team: Stradalli Cycle/Papa John’s Woman’s Elite Team. This newly formed team will be racing across North America next year in the USA Crits Series and elsewhere.

Full Sponsorship: People want our full carbon road bikes and more so they want to be part of the Stradalli movement. The company joined with Wizard Racing Development Team for the upcoming season.

Bike Aid: The deal became official in December; we would become the title and bike sponsor for Bike Aid and form the Stradalli Cycle- Bike Aid Conti Team. This German pro team has years of experience racing all around the world in UCI competition and will be turning heads in 2016 armed with the Stradalli Cycle full carbon Aversa road bikes.

However, Bike Aid is more than just a race team; they raise awareness for an outstanding cause and bring opportunity and education to poverty-stricken communities in Africa. They give you African athletes an opportunity to compete in professional cycling. This is a great cause we are excited to be a part of.

The most successful year in company history wouldn’t be possible without the support of our loyal customers. We want to thank you for your support and hope you will join us for the unforgettable ride 2016 is certain to be.

5 Sports That Benefit From Cycling As A Form Of Cardio Training

Cross training is nothing new and it is gaining popularity at high schools, colleges and even the pro level. For years you only did workouts based on the sport you were training for but then it was discovered that taking training tactics used for other sports may help an athlete to improve in their own arena. MMA fighters use cycling all the time to help improve their endurance without putting strain on their bodies, especially their knees.

You already know that riding a full carbon road bike down A1A for an hour gives you all the cardio you need to improve endurance and unlike running it doesn’t put a tremendous amount of pressure on your knees, back and joints. What you may not know is there are multiple sports where cycling, especially training on full carbon road bikes have actually become part of the routine for pro athletes.

1.       MMA: Of course we will start with MMA because they are the best example. These larger than life gladiators train to battle each other in hand to hand combat. However, when it comes to getting their cardio in they prefer the advantages that the bicycle allows them rather than putting on their running shoes.

2.       Basketball: Now this one surprises people because while playing basketball you have to run up and down the court hundreds of times so it only makes sense that you would train by running. That’s old school tactics that simply don’t work. Look at Lebron James, he rides his bike to and from games because it helps him to improve his durance but also takes the strain off of his knees. That’s the point athletes have found with cross training with a bike, if you run during the game and run during practice the last thing you want to do is run during training as well. You have to give your body a break but still find a quality cardio to help you improve and get stronger. Riding a bicycle does that.

3.       Hockey: This one doesn’t surprise anyone but what few people know is when hockey players usually ride bikes, immediately after a game. Yes, many players like to ride for at least 30 min directly after a game because it stretches out their legs, helps them improve their endurance but also spares their legs from anymore wear and tear.

4.       Football: Giant men pushing and hitting each other for an hour a week so why not have them run to train? That’s asking for trouble which is why many football gyms have an abundance of stationary bikes to help their players get in a safe form of cardio. Have you ever watched a game and noticed at least 1 bike on the sideline for the players to use when they need to stretch out their legs? There’s a reason.

5.       Cycling: No seriously, how does a cyclist train for a race, they ride a full carbon road bike. So if an MMA fighter, a basketball start, a hockey player and a football giant are all riding a bike to get into better shape why wouldn’t a cyclist do it? Here’s the catch, they ride for 5 hours or more a day to prepare, not exactly something you should try on your first trip but it gives you an idea of the commitment it takes to be able to handle those major races like the Tour De France.

Why do we care about how athletes train if we aren’t playing a sport? Science, sports teams have spent billions of dollars in research to find new ways to make their athletes stronger, faster but also help them to heal and get injured less often. If they have a secret we want to know about it, not so we can go play in the Super Bowl but because we want to get healthier. Cross training opened our minds to the idea that maybe other sports have something to offer that we can incorporate in our routines and the one thing nearly every sport seems to be on board with is hopping on a full carbon road bike and taking it for a ride.

Stradalli Cycle Pro Racer Sebastian Morfin Riding Cyclocross Bike At University Of Florida

This semester Stradalli Cycle pro racer Sebastian Morfin takes time in between classes and studying at school to train with fellow riders at the University of Florida as they train for Swamp Cross and other local cyclo cross races in Florida. Morfin currently races for the Stradalli Cycle pro team during the summer in the USA Crits Series but also rides the "CCS-07" Full Carbon Disc Cycle Cross Cyclocross Bike. Ultegra 6800 11 Speed. Vision 30 CX Wheel Set while attending UF.

Stradalli Cycle/Bike Aid Pro Racer Patrick Lechner

Today we went on a ride with Stradalli-Bike Aid Continental Cycling Team Rider, Patrick Lechner on A1A through Ft. Lauderdale along the beach, who was putting his Stradalli Cycle Full Carbon Fiber Aversa Road Bike through some tests in preparation for his 2016 season.

Lechner has been the Saarland, Germany Road Racing Champion 4 times during his career. In 2016 alone he took the road, mountain bike, uphill and cyclocross titles of Saarland, Germany.
Lechner is incredibly strong and is often the keystone to his team’s success. It was his personality and his insight into cycling is what makes him an irreplaceable part of his team.

Today Lechner gave us some feedback about his new Stradalli Aversa.

“The bike is beautiful,” Lechner said. “Aside from that, I am a bigger rider and I need a stiff frame. This frame responds to every effort I put into it. I love it. When a bike performs this well, it makes me very confident for the upcoming season.”

Lechner only had a few moments to spend with us before he had to get back to the grind of team training in South Florida. South Florida sounds relaxing, but Stradalli-Bike Aid is here to do work in preparation for the upcoming season. They will average around 6 hours per day for the next two weeks and every mile of the training will be covered aboard the new Stradalli Aversa.

Stradalli Cycle/Bike Conti Team Aid Visiting South Florida To Train

The newly created Stadalli Cycle/Bike Aid Conti Team is in South Florida visiting from German. The team is training 6 hours a day and testing out the full carbon Aversa road bikes that they will be riding in the UCI 2016 season. They have also been enjoying the sights of Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Boca Raton and even taken a couple of rides out to the Everglades. It hasn't been all work as they have enjoyed plenty of sites including sitting court side at a Miami Heat game and checking out the giant snowman on Ft. Lauderdale Beach on A1A.

"Stradalli Cycle has a great reputation when it comes to their bikes and we know how well their USA crits team did last year as well as how the Colombian National Team did on the full carbon fiber road bikes at Richmond 2015 UCI Road World Championships this past September as well. We were excited to try them out and they are awesome. We cannot wait to ride them next year in competition." Nikodemus Holler

Joining the team for their ride down A1A was Stradalli Cycle pro racer Ruben Companioni as well as CEO Tom Steinbacher.

Stradalli Cycle Officially Becomes Title And Bike Sponsor For Bike Aid

StradalliCycle will be the title and bike sponsor for the GermanProfessional Continental Team Bike Aid for the 2016 racing season. The commitment includes title sponsorship, providing full carbon road bikes for the 2016 UCI racing season as well as to help raise awareness for the mission of Bike Aid; helping athletes from Africa reach the highest levels of European cycling as well as provide education and other resources to their communities.

“What grabbed our attention about Bike Aid was not just the high level of talent they have but each pro cyclist’s commitment to the club's awesome cause. They have the talent to race for almost any team but these guys believe in this cause so much that they race and work to bring awareness to it.
Stradalli Cycle/Bike Aid will field a competitive team and will bring a lot of good, positive and clean changes to the cycling world.” Stradalli Cycle CEO Tom Steinbacher

There were several companies who were interested in sponsoring Bike Aid for the 2016 UCI season but the team and members were looking for the right sponsor who would commit more than just financially.

“We wanted to find a sponsor who is going to be a part of our cause and our mission. Tom believes in our cause, he believes in his product and he will support both relentlessly. Everyone saw how great the Stradalli Cycle full carbon road bikes performed at Richmond 2015 UCI Road World Championships and in plenty of other races all around the world the past several years but we needed more than just a great bike. Tom understands how to build awareness and get people on board the way we need to help our efforts become even greater." Bike Aid President Eric Haus

Bike Aid was searching for more than just a financial commitment and because Stradalli Cycle was interested in both the title sponsorship as well as the bike sponsorship and their long history of aggressive marketing it seems like the perfect fit for both sides.

Tips For Riding Your Bike To And From Work

This month Stradalli Cycle is focused on educating our customers and cyclists everywhere on safety tips, comparing cycling to other forms of exercise and more. While Stradalli Cycle is one ofthe leading manufacturers of full carbon bicycles we also take pride in being part of the biking community, a community which covers the entire world and we feel the responsibility in offering advice and help to all riders no matter what bike you are on.

Today we focus on those who use their cycles to commute to and from work every day. There are more people riding their bikes to work and a large part has to do with convenience. Driving a car is ridiculously expensive between the price of the car, gas prices, insurance and don’t forget about the traffic you have to battle every day. This is why if you have the means to do so, riding a bike to work is a great idea.

Health benefits: Studies show that people who regularly ride their bike to work are physically and emotionally healthier. Not only are they getting regular cardio during the day but they experience less stress during their commute. Ever hear of road rage? When you exercise regularly you actually have more energy, are less stressed and more relaxed. All things we can use when walking into a tough day at work.

Cargo: Obviously you have to carry a few things with you and packing correctly not only makes things more convenient but also safer for you while on your bike. The best thing is to have a back pack that you can store what you need but make sure that it doesn’t hang loose. Tighten the straps so that the weight is not shifting around as much. Always bring a lock even if you are able to store your bicycle in the office at work because you never know if you have to stop somewhere else and will need it.

Safety: Especially now after daylight savings time it gets darker much earlier so you want to make sure that your bike has a front headlight and a rear light as well. Any reflective gear you can wear or additional lights you can put on your bicycle are always a great benefit as well. Be sure to follow proper bicycle safety tips for riding at night

Beginners: Do a ride to work on a day off before you try doing it on a day you work. This gives you an idea of how much time you need but remember if it takes you 20 minutes on a Sunday it may take you 30 minutes on a Monday so allow yourself extra time.

What are you wearing: You may not want to wear your suit or uniform for work while you are riding. If it rains a little, you get dirty or just due to the fact that you are sweating it may be smart to pack your work clothes. Also keep in mind that you will probably be wearing bike shorts as well so wearing them under your work pants may not be a great idea.

Be prepared: Not just a slogan. Make sure that you know bus routes, bring rain gear, tire repair kits and whatever you should bring on a long ride. These are things you can store in a kit or even your backpack.

Obviously there are advantages to having a carbon fiber road bike when commuting to work. They are more durable and weigh much less than your average retail bicycles. That may not seem like a big deal until you need a more reliable and durable bicycle as well as something that is light weight. Take one of the retail store bikes and try lifting it up a flight of stairs at work or moving it quickly as you walk through the office and you will easily understand why a full carbon road bike is much better.

Cycling VS Running

The debate between running and cycling as a form of cardio continues on. Obviously at Stradalli Cycle we willbe a little bias because we sell full carbon bikes and believe it is the best form of exercise you can do not only from a health standpoint but for enjoyment as well because cycling is a fun recreational activity. However, after talking with several trainers, professional athletes in MMA as well as other sports and several customers who work out on a daily basis here is what we have found:

It is important to note that both exercises are great forms of cardio; they strengthen the heart and build leg muscles. Both exercises will help you to lose weight, maintain your weight and improve your overall health.

Losing Weight: Both are great forms of cardio to lose weight. Burning calories will be based on your weight, how fast you are going and more. Running does burn more calories in the same period of time. However, that is due to the fact that you are supporting your entire body’s weight. The question is what are you more likely to complete on a daily basis, running for a full 40 minutes or going for a bike ride for an hour?

Convenience: Running enthusiasts will say that going for a jog in the morning is cheaper than buying a full carbon fiber road bike. While that’s true you also have to look at what form of cardio you are most likely to stick with. Riding your bike is a great form of exercise but it can also be done as a recreational activity as well as an alternate method of transportation to and from work.

Strength and Endurance: Cycling allows you to go longer than running because you are not beating up your body as much. When you run you are supporting your entire body’s weight with your legs and that puts major strain on your lower back, knees and joints. Ever have a shin splint?

Again running is still better than doing nothing and if it is your only means of exercise then it is a great form of cardio, you will lose weight and get healthier. But when comparing the two, many pro athletes prefer training on bikes because they get many similar advantages that you receive from going for a run but less wear and tear on your body.

Another note: While you may be tempted to go with a bike you find in a retail store understand that you are missing out on true value. If you love riding you will want to upgrade and now you have a bike that you cannot get a good return on. If you start with a full carbon fiber road bicycle from Stradalli you will not only love it but you can get them for a low price because they are sold directly from Stradalli Cycle rather than a 3rd party distributor or bike shop. Full carbon fibercycles are light weight but more durable to give you a better feel and a far better ride.

SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) is held at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Nevada and features over 2,000 new products in the world of electronics and the automotive industry. More than 60,000 are people attending SEMA 2015 this week.
The picture above was taken during a morning ride with Steinbacher and Sergio Camilo Urrego where they were able to stop by the Hoover Dam and checked out other sites around Nevada as well.

Interview With Stradalli Cycle CEO and Entrepreneur Tom Steinbacher at Richmond 2015

Stradalli Cycle was the official sponsor for the Colombian National Team at Richmond 2015 UCI Road World Championships where they provided the pro racers with full carbon road bikes and more.

“Stradalli Cycle has had a long relationship with Colombia and cycling. I go there all the time for vacation as well as to train and I love the hospitality I am shown each time I visit. I truly enjoy teaching and training the children who have a passion for cycling and absorb so much of what you show them.” Tom Steinbacher

Sponsoring teams is nothing new as Stradalli sponsors pro teams all over the world for road, track, mountain and other forms of bicycle racing. Their full carbon bikes rival the quality of the top brand names but cost a fraction of the price.

“When I sponsor a pro racer and teams around the world I look for individuals who have a passion for cycling and want an opportunity to compete. It’s easy to prove that we have the best quality full carbon bicycles on the market; all you have to do is look at the results. I can easily say we have the best prices by far because if you go to our website you know that’s the case. But I want people who want to race and want to compete all around the world. Those are the kind of people that are going to make Stradalli Cycle a global brand in racing and that’s what we are looking for.”Tom Steinbacher

Stradalli Cycle Reviews 29er Full Carbon Fiber Mountain Bike

Stradalli Cycle 29er Full Carbon Fiber Mountain Bike
Stradalli Cycle reviews their line of 29er full carbon fiber mountain bikes. These bikes are raced by elite MTB racers all around the world.

“This is by far my favorite bike I’ve ever hopped on. Just the overall comfort and control is far ahead of others but still puts me in the optimal attack position for all out XC racing. Awesome bike!” Doug DeWeese

What is so special about them: Our 29ers are the perfect MTB for racing and tearing up the trails. The tapered head tube significantly stiffens the control center which helps you to muscle out of ruts and improve your all-around control authority.

Putting our money where our mouth is: Not only does Stradalli Cycle stand by all their full carbon bikes but they race them all around the world in pro races. Currently mountain biker Doug DeWeese is leading the FSC Championship Series Elite Category on the Stradalli 29er full suspension and is dominating the field.

Compare Reviews To Other Brands: The Stradalli 29er MTB compares favorably to the biggest name brands in the cycling world. However, because we sell our bikes personally rather than sending them off to a 3rd party dealer we are able to offer our full carbon MTB at a fraction of the cost.

Feel free to check out our amazing selection of full carbon cycles as well as get updates on our racing teams all around the world!

Cycling VS Spinning Class

Stradalli Cycle Full Carbon Road Bike
The debate continues, is it better to get a full carbon road bike from Stradalli Cycle or simply join a spinning class? It is well known that cycling is one of the best activities you can have because it counts as high impact cardio but the question is which is better, actually getting out on your bike or taking an indoor class? Here are a few things to take into consideration:

·         The Negative: Of course with cycling you have the issues of dealing with inclement weather as well as needing to have more gear. Bike shorts, helmets, spare tubes (and know how to change them) are all a necessity. Spinning class allows you to go whenever you want and less gear is required.
·         The Pros: There is no denying you get more of a workout from cycling outdoors. In spinning class if you want to do ten miles the majority of the time your mind quits before your body because you know that you can quit any time you want. In cycling you are enjoying it more because you are outside and you get to see the world. So mentally you are more focused on the ride and less focused on the actual workout. This is why cycling creates far better workouts than spinning class, not to mention a much more enjoyable experience.

Different experiences:

·         Cycling is a recreational activity you can either incorporate into your weekend or center your entire weekend around depending on where you live. You can check out trails at local parks, drive to another town over the weekend and enjoy it’s cycling experiences; join local events and much more.
·         Spinning classes are just spinning classes, they don’t change, they give you a good workout but again you are doing the same thing and experiencing the same thing each time.

Food for thought:

There is a way you can get the best of both worlds. Rather than take a spinning class you can purchase a full carbon road bike on sale right now at Stradalli Cycle and then purchase a bicycle trainer (stationary bike stand) online as well.

This works great because if the weather is bad you can still get your workout in and when the conditions are right you can unhook your bike from the trainer and go out for a ride. So if you sign up for spinning class or purchase a stationary bicycle you are stuck inside all the time. If you buy a Stradalli Cycle full carbon road bike you can use it whenever you want and turn your workout into an adventure.
